Hills Visual Artistry

Services: Custom Branding + Web Design

This artist branding project was for Hills Visual Artistry, the business of artist Karen Price – famed for her paint & sip events Brushes, Bubbles, & Brie, run in the Perth hills, as well as offering classes and artwork. I was delighted to come on-board to help define the branding and marketing strategy.

The Brand

Karen is super-passionate about helping people connect with their creativity and find a love of art, especially those who have previously had negative and traumatic experiences. She’s also heavily inspired by the natural environment, so we utilised a warm green + purple colour scheme to reflect that caring creativity and natural inspiration. As a calligrapher, we pulled through a casual, friendly, calligraphy-inspired font, with a letter-mark icon that combined the initials with the curves of the landscape.

The Website

After completing the branding, we discussed the website strategy. While Karen (the artist) had run fairly regular workshops prior to covid, the marketing and ticket sales had always been handled by the venue, so she didn’t really have any control over her events, or the analytics, and hadn’t been able to really start building her own audience.

The new Hills Visual Artistry website includes workshop information and ticket sales, so that Karen is fully in control of her events, wherever she chooses to run them, as well as the means to start building her own mailing list.

Artist website design for Hills Visual Artistry - the home page includes a hero image of a beautiful fluid painting with creams, royal purple, and gold.

In addition to this, it includes a range of features fitting for an artist website: a brief gallery on the home page to show off some of her artwork, with even more displayed on the about page, spaces for the glowing testimonials she receives from her clients and event attendees, and a small shop section to allow Karen to sell her art easily online – a process which she was previously completing manually!

This new website has allowed Karen to take greater control over her business, and increased the opportunities for it to grow.

This artist branding project was followed by a new website, to enable her to sell her own event tickets and art, and have ownership over her own audience.
